So you always envied your colleague who types without looking at the keyboard? You always thought life would have been much better if you had joined a typing class. You thought your productivity would skyrocket if you knew you could ‘think’ while your fingers did all the typing…
Well, my friend, I’ll tell you all the secrets of speedy typing. I didn’t join any typing course in my life. But yes, I can type very fast! Without looking at the keyboard! I’ll share some self-invented tips for improving your typing speed…
Here is the gist no matter how 'novice' you think you are, there is still a chance that you can type like a pro without looking at the keyboards. Now, no mega promises. I don’t have a magic pill which will 'boost' your typing speed after reading this article, but I strongly suggest that you read the following article if and only if you have the ‘desire’ to work on your typing speed. Nothing will happen unless you have the desire and also you have to be optimistic about it.
Lets Get Started
Things You Will Require in the course of this Training
Computer with possible soft keyboard
Comfortable Chair
Considering/Understanding the Keyboard.
The keyboard is basically divided into five parts namely:
The Functional Keys
The Numerical Keys
The Special Keys
The Navigational/Directional Keys
&
The Alphabetical Keys
For the purpose of this course/training would focus on the ALPHABETICAL KEYS of the keyboard. You can get yourself an unused keyboard for just this training.
Step 1
Take a good visualizing and memorable look at the Keyboard Yeah, I mean stir at it very well, and don't wonder I said so! But just remember to visualize and memorize the position of the keys as best as possible.
Step 2
Did you notice on your keyboard the letters 'F' & 'J'? That is the two letters with specific marking (-) right? You see, from letter 'A-F, and from letter 'J-;' are known as the HOME KEYS because when typing your hands are supposed to be position right on them- "A-F & J-;" and from there you can reach forth all your fingers to the rest keys. Hmmn, that's 8 keys for resting/positioning eight of your fingers, excluding your two thumbs. So you position your fingers on those home keys (A, S, D, F, & J K L ;).
